About Microsoft Commons

With a planting-to-harvest cycle of just 28 days, the indoor farm at Microsoft’s Redmond campus yields nearly 15,000 lbs. of produce annually. The tech company relies on sophisticated software to monitor and adjust each tower’s growing variables, such as temperature, pH, humidity, electricity, and lighting.

You can find the towers flourishing in transparent enclosures at The Commons: an on-campus plaza featuring 23 organic- and local-minded restaurants — many of which use fresh produce from the Tower Farm.
